Zdarsky, Sawicki & Agostinelli LLP was founded in 1990 by Joseph E. Zdarsky, K. Michael Sawicki, Guy J. Agostinelli and Gerald T. Walsh, as the spinoff of the litigation practice group maintained by another firm. A guiding purpose in the founding and operation of the firm has been to provide clients and referring lawyers with seasoned litigators experienced in complex matters, who are willing to provide the personal attention expected by business clients at reasonable billing rates. Zdarsky, Sawicki & Agostinelli LLP has maintained established relationships with numerous regular clients for whom the firm has acted as general counsel for many years. The firm also has enjoyed excellent relationships with referring counsel because the firm strives to furnish their clients with a first class effort and result, while protecting the referring lawyers’ relationships with their clients. Several attorneys in the firm have served as mediators and arbitrators in commercial disputes. A significant part of the firm’s practice has been advice and counsel to, and representation of, other professionals in significant matters, including other attorneys, accountants, engineers, and physicians. Such representation has involved not only defense of claims of professional liability or discipline, but also partnership and corporate matters involving their relationships with their firms and partners. Two of the firm’s attorneys are examining counsel for Ticor Title Insurance Company, one partner is a former prosecutor, and another is one of eleven members of the official Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York. One of the firm’s attorneys worked for a major local construction company for ten years before he became a lawyer. Another has worked as an electrical engineer. The background and experience of the firm’s attorneys permits Zdarsky, Sawicki & Agostinelli LLP to accept engagements in a wide variety of business and litigation matters. The firm’s attorneys are admitted to practice only in the State of New York, except where indicated in the attorney biographical section of this website. Accordingly, except where permitted by special authority, such as being admitted pro hac vice in litigation elsewhere, the firm confines its practice to New York State.
